Some guidance to save you from trouble with the installation…
.) You have to use TWO cdrom’s: The one from SONY (this fucked up thing with the PCMCIA-Card) and a normal USB-CDROM
.) Boot Install CD 1 with the SONY-CDROM
.) When the installation complains that the Install-Medium wasn’t found remove the CD from the SONY and put it in the USB-CDROM
.) When you are in the Anaconda Installer hit CTRL-ALT-F2 to get a console
.) change i686 to i586 in /etc/rpm/platform (otherwise the installation fails with: “incorrect arch” during package installation
.) Continue as normal…
.) Firstboot hangs at the License-Agreement. Before it hangs (at the welcome screen) restart the X server (with CTRL-ALT-Backspace) to get a prompt and uninstall firstboot /rpm -e firstboot)
.) Add a user manually with “useradd sysop; passwd sysop”
.) remove the RedHatGraphicalBoot “rpm -e rhgb”
.) continue as normal…
