There are three ways to hide a file in Finder:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \/.hidden<\/li>\n
  2. file starts with a .<\/li>\n
  3. have the attribute V<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    To view the attributes of a file use:<\/p>\n

    \/Developer\/Tools\/GetFileInfo ~\/Desktop\/.DS_Store<\/pre>\n
    Possible attributes are:<\/p>\n
    Each letter corresponds to a file attribute: an uppercase letter indicates that the attribute bit is set (1), a lowercase letter indicates that it is not (0).<\/p>\n
    A | a    Alias file\r\nB | b    Has bundle\r\nC | c    Custom icon (allowed on folders)\r\nD | d    Located on the desktop (allowed on folders)\r\nE | e    Extension is hidden (allowed on folders)\r\nI | i    Inited - Finder is aware of this file and has given it a location in a window.\r\n         (allowed on folders)\r\nL | l    Locked\r\nM | m    Shared (can run multiple times)\r\nN | n    File has no INIT resource\r\nS | s    System file (name locked)\r\nT | t    \"Stationery Pad\" file\r\nV | v    Invisible (allowed on folders)<\/pre>\n
    Since I realy like to see whats on my disk you can use the following tool to show all files in Finder: http:\/\/www.bresink.com\/osx\/TinkerTool.html<\/a> – Which does a lot more than that\u00c2\u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
    Alternatively you can use the following command to view all the files:<\/p>\n
